In this time of American political upheaval, I have had one major question on my mind: What is the Body of Messiah supposed to be learning from this? How are we, as the Body, supposed to respond to political volatility? Do we segregate ourselves? Do we become mired in the fray? Does the Bible speak to this moment? How do we bear the Father’s image in this time?

The story of Joseph has been one that has fascinated generations and rightfully so. Joseph’s story is our story. With it’s many layers, Joseph’s life challenges us to grow in wisdom and stature, as our Messiah Yeshua did Himself.

A physician, and a man of accuracy, we look to Luke’s Gospel account for the most chronological and detailed account of Yeshua’s life and ministry. But is that what Luke’s intention was? In this week’s episode we begin a 4 week look at each Gospel account. These will all be general overviews as we prepare ourselves for the life and teachings of Messiah. This week, we look at the book of Matthew.

When we read our Gospel accounts, much ado is made about the Sadducees and Pharisees, as if they are one in the same. As we looked at the Sadducees a couple of weeks ago, we saw that they were a particular group with a particular worldview. Are these Pharisees indeed the same? Is it fair to link these two groups together? Today we dive in to the wonderful world of the Pharisees of the first century.

Have you ever asked yourself these questions: Why did Yeshua have to die? Does God accept human sacrifice? What exactly is sin? How does Yeshua's death and resurrection deal with sin if we still struggle with sin today? Skipping ahead a few chapters in the Gospel of Matthew, Joe & Kyle begin to take a look a the events leading to Yeshua's crucifixion and resurrection and have a conversation about these and other fundamental questions.
