In this week’s episode we are excited to get to speak with our great friend Hanoch Young. Joe and Hanoch will be discussing the Jewish views of traditions.

For many of us, the main thrust of the book of Ruth is Ruth’s proclamation to Naomi, but this powerful statement happens at the end of chapter 1. There are still three more chapters chocked full of beautiful lessons for us to learn. What wondrous truths have we missed? Let’s dive in and discover!

This week we are in Parsha Bechukotai, focusing mainly on Lev. 26. There are many consequences for Israel’s disloyalty to God. How should we read these “curses”? In this week’s episode, Joe takes us through the concept of exile found here in Lev. 26 as the ultimate consequence for disloyalty.

Tradition. Even the mention of the word makes some uneasy. For some, tradition has been/is a major roadblock to truth. In Deut. 4:2, we are commended not to add or take away from the Word of God. But what does that mean exactly? Is that what tradition has done as it is so claimed? Also, as we. continue our post-Shavuot journey through the book of Ruth, we will discuss the various redemptions contained in the book of Ruth. There is so much more to this story than you may have realized!

As many of us come to the knowledge of Torah, we enter an incredibly vast new world! As most of us did not grow up in a Torah-centric tradition, there are so many new things to learn and new dynamics to consider. All too often, our search for truth leaves us feeling isolated and divided. This was never God's intention. As Shavuot quickly approaches, today's teaching will focus on the often missed yet absolutely necessary component of community and how Shavuot teaches us its necessity.

This week we continue our introduction to Sefer Vayikra (the book of Leviticus) as we discuss intentional vs unintentional sin and how the offerings’ efficacy on our transgressions.

One of the least read yet most misunderstood books of the Bible, Leviticus, is in fact, the heart of the Torah. Leviticus begins with a phrase that sets the theme for the entire book, “And He called”. Vayikra (Leviticus) is, at its core, a beautiful invitation to draw near to HaShem and without a proper understanding of this book, our entire Biblical understanding may indeed be corrupted.
